The main feature of mao which distinguishes it from many of its predecessors is that there is a rule against explaining or asking about the rules.

Mao card game rules. It will be his turn at the start of the game, with play oriented clockwise. The players are dealt each a hand of cards (usually 5). In some variants, the winner of each round makes up a new (secret) rule for the next.

This rule is not told to the rest of the players. They must figure it out during gameplay. When his turn is finished, it will be the next person's turn.

To win a game of mao, a player must play their last card without breaking any rules and say mao, unless the last card is a jack, in which case they must say mao mao. If a rule is broken, anybody can award a penalty card by stating what was done to deserve the penalty. Other common rules include no talking except when required by another rule, thanking the dealer when given a penalty card, and calling out mao when you have one card left.

Mao is a card game that the new players are not supposed to know the rules going into it, it’s a learn as you go game. If you are searching for games for a particular number of players you may prefer to use the index of games by number of players. If the player cannot do this, he must draw a card and knock on the table.

The first rule of mao is that you are not allowed to talk about the rules of mao and here i shall proceed to break said rules 2. Try to add rules early that make it easier for you (or any other player) to get rid of cards. After the card has been drawn the person may play any valid card.

Mao's rules are very strict. Mao is a standard deck playing card game where the object is to get rid of all your cards, and this is the only thing that new players are told about this game. This rule cannot contradict an already existing rule.

This game is a great game for behavioral conditioning. Mao is a recent addition to the group, which is especially popular in the usa. After dealing 5 cards to each player, the dealer turns over the first card of the draw deck and says “the game of mao starts now”

Rules for mau have existed at least since the 1930s. These are few basic rules to remember. The object of the game is to have an empty hand.

The game is best when most players are unsure of the exact rules and/or drunk. The game is won when a player plays his or her very last card and says, “mao.” the winner of the game gets to make up one new rule for the next time the game is played. If they fail to do this, or break any other rules during the play, they must draw one card, take back their winning card, and forfeit their turn.

The game is played with a regular deck of playing cards. For more than 5 players, 2 packs of cards may be used. The players can pick up their cards after the dealer picks up their cards.

Mao’s rules vary between different groups. Mao uses a standard deck of cards, but is best with two or three decks. Every time a player breaks a rule, a penalty is called, and they must take it back and draw a penalty card.

New players are expected to join a game and deduce the rules of play by observation, trial and error. This is not a good game for people with short attention spans or people that get frustrated easily. They are forced to figure out the rest of the rules by themselves.

One person is designated to start play. Playing with my group, almost always the first rule in is ghost/flash where you can play a card out if turn if it's the exact copy of the card that was just played (we play with 2.5 decks). All rules of mao start after the dealer says that last line.

Each player in the turn can play a card with the same value or color as the face up card in the center of the game area. The game originated in germany. At the beginning of the game the topmost card is revealed, then the players each get a turn to play cards.

Based on the popular uno tm game, mao is a fast pased game which is played like crazy eights. The rest are placed face down as the drawing stack.
